Peer-2-Peer E-mentoring
With over 6 million students and educators in the ePALS global classroom it is now possible to create your own peer 2 peer e-mentoring programme. 110, 000 schools are already taking part and benefiting from cross cultural and language learning.
The tools used within the class 2 class e-mentoring are just fantastic. They include email that has it's own translation tool, anti virus, anti spam, anti-profanity and can be monitored by teachers all the time. The students can also file share, use forums, work on the projects we have created and send eCards.
You can try the technology for free and even search for a school before you do anything else!
Business Volunteers to Student E-mentoring
E-mentoring is a powerful tool that is most effective when used as a compliment to other strategies of development or support. There are a wide range of benefits that e-mentoring can bring to your students. Here are some clear reasons why your school should get involved in e-mentoring:
Develop appropriate communication skills and improve ICT skills and awareness and get to understand how ICT can fit into the workplace.
Having a business volunteer e-mentoring a student can Increase self esteem and improve motivation
When a successful e-mentor works with a student on a one to one basis it could improve their academic achievement
The business volunteer has life and work experience and independent careers advice can be beneficial and push the child into considering other options
Provides the opportunity to develop appropriate relationships with supportive adults outside the school environment.
