E-mentoring and Mentoring are transitional experiences that have to evolve as the user does. We know that be inspiring and challenging a student or teacher we can see things that perhaps we didn't see before. Because of this we have developed more programmes that can be adopted into your school at the same time as an e-mentoring programme is taking place.
Long Term Programmes
Teacher E-mentoring
Over the last 3 years we have created hundreds of peer to peer and business to student
e-mentoring programmes and have now decided to develop a teacher e-mentoring programme.
The purpose of the programme is to enable teachers to access the business world for advice and guidance as well as having someone to air their ups and downs to as well. Teachers will be able to choose the industry their e-mentor comes from so they can link with someone with the potential skills they require support with.
Cost:
£295.00 for up to 10 staff - £445.00 for up to 20 staff - £795.00 for up to 40 staff
Reading Partners
This is not a new concept and we have supported reading schemes in the past but we now feel with the experience we have gained that we can set a working model for others to use and perhaps develop further.
The purpose of the programme is to give one to one support to child in school that needs extra support with reading skills. The reading partner will sit with the child for 20-30 minutes every week for a minimum of 10 weeks. The reading partner will be trained, CRB checked if required and supported through the 10 weeks by studentmentoring.com
Cost:
£295.00 for up to 10 reading partners, you can have more at a reduced rate.
One Day Events
Bang Bang Bang ( Year 8 and above only)
This is probably one of the most energetic learning experiences your students will ever have. A group of up to 100 students will be pitched against a corporate group of employees in a paint ball arena. The students will have to complete tasks while under extreme pressure. The tasks are not easy and will require team work in order to complete them.
The majority of the cost of this event is paid for by the company that is challenged. However, we do ask that a contribution of £2.50 per student is paid.
Water Olympics / Ice Olympics ( Year 5 and above only)
Put your pupils to the challenge. These two events are for the more energetic pupil and for the ones that like a challenge. Pupils will be partnered with employees from large and small companies so team work becomes very real at this point. A lot of fun and a lot of laughs. Several games will be played so the pupils use different skills and tactics. The employees will coach the students and give them lot's of support and encouragement throughout the day. Not to be missed!
Numbers: No less than 20 and no more than 60
The majority of the cost of this event is paid for by the company that is challenged. However, we do ask that a contribution of £1.50 per pupil is paid.
Go Go Go Carting ( Year 8 and above only)
Exactly that! This event allows the more hands on student get involved and challenge the best the corporate world has to offer when it comes to go karting. Students will race against employees and be pushed all the way. The objective is to get the student to consider tactical racing and explore the possibility that you don't have to be the fastest to win.

The Pirates Treasure ( Year 4 and above only)
This is a fantastic event that will have the little ones working things out with the support of employees. The objective of the day is to find the treasure and answer all the questions correctly. Prizes will be given for the winners (and losers) so everyone goes home happy. All employees will dress as pirates and we encourage the pupils to do so too.
