Here are two quote's from Oracle and how they see the BITC programme.
Ian Smith
“Our work with the Business in the Community has formed an integral part of the development of our CSR strategy, particularly around community and education initiatives. It was on a recent “Seeing is Believing” tour that we were inspired to pilot an e-Mentoring programme for young people, who need more support if they are going to take advantage of our education system.
“I am now delighted to say that we are launching this programme across all of Oracle’s UK offices. With a significant workforce based all over the UK Oracle has employees with a range of skills to inspire young people achieve more through the education system. This scheme is ideal, because it gives Oracle employees the flexibility to manage workload commitments and ensure they can fulfil their commitments to the young people they are supporting.”
John Rodway:
“The e-Mentoring pilot demonstrated very early on clear benefits both to our employees and the young people they worked with. Being able to share knowledge and experience with future generations gives many of our staff an even greater of sense of pride in working for Oracle, because we are very conscious of our role in the wider community. All of us can remember someone who inspired us when we were young and it is extremely pleasing for me to think that there are so many Oracle employees, who want to help to inspire the next generation.”
